According to an article on CampusGrotto.com, UC Santa Cruz ranked seventh for average dorm costs nationwide. UCSC, which listed $13,038 for a standard double dorm room, sits below UC Berkeley (#5 – $13,170) and above UCLA (#8 – $12,891).

Still, in a similar article ranking total cost, based on tuition plus room and board, no schools in the UC system ranked in the top 100, which ranged from Sarah Lawrence College ($53,166) to Northeastern University ($44,830).
