UCSC Student Dies From Injuries Sustained in Hit and Run

alexandria-arceneaux-photo-2Alexandria “Alex” Arceneaux, a third-year UCSC student has succumbed to her injuries according to a press release from the the Santa Cruz Police Department (SCPD).

She was 20 years old and died after nearly a week in intensive care. Arceneaux was struck by a car while crossing Highway 1 near River Street at approximately 1:55 a.m. October 30 and was transported to a Bay Area trauma center in critical condition.

SCPD issued a county-wide, multi-agency Project R.O.P.E. to track down the suspected vehicle but were unable to locate it.  Police are still seeking the public’s help in locating the driver of the car, described as a silver 2010-12 Honda CRV with damage to the passenger side front bumper.
