The City of Santa Cruz lost two police officers on Feb. 26. This is the first time in history a Santa Cruz police officer has been killed in the line of duty.

The Fungus Federation of Santa Cruz is working to make its 36th annual Fungus Fair a success. The fair is expected to draw a big crowd and will feature a large mushroom display, lectures, and food.
Last week inside the Louden Nelson Community Center, concerned citizens gathered for the first of many “Unity in our Community” public peace forums. The Community Center seemed hardly large enough to hold the group of at least 120 people that attended. Prospects for seats looked grim before the welcome ceremony even began.
