An international research team, including two UCSC astronomers, announced on Nov. 7 the discovery of a super-Earth planet that may be conducive to sustaining water and life. The research drew praise from several scientists, though its findings have not yet been concluded.

The search for another Earth is over. While UCSC astronomer Steve Vogt has found the first potentially habitable planet, other UCSC astronomers search for the answer to the questions of our universe.
