
Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta announced the $450 billion cut to the Pentagon’s budget may partially have to come out of the military’s health insurance program, Tricare. Raised fees and renegotiating retirement pay of veterans are unacceptable measures compared to the price tags of the Pentagon’s other defense contracts.

This week, wounded service members came to Cowell Beach for a surfing trip they’ll never forget. Local businesses and volunteers made the week an awesome experience for the participants, allowing them a chance to relax and rehab at the same time.

On Wednesday night before Veterans Day, UCSC’s Services for Transfer and Re-Entry Students (STARS) along with the Student Veterans of America will be sponsoring this evening to commemorate and remember all the veterans who have dedicated themselves to serving this country.
