Question: Would you pose nude for an art class? Why or why not?

Students and faculty gathered outside Blumenthal’s office at Kerr Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 17. They delivered handmade cards, which both professed their love for UC Santa Cruz language programs and urged the administration not to cut from the languages’ budget.

The UCSC theater arts and digital arts departments have been collaborating to present an experimental show highlighting the rise of digital media.

On Sunday, Feb. 7, Benjamin Quaye’s body was found beside the railroad tracks along Almar Avenue after he apparently fell and hit his head late at night. After dealing with the initial shock of his death, his UCSC men’s rugby teammates are coming together to remember his life and his significant impact, both on and off the field.

In nude figure drawing artists and their models come together to study the human body, a necessary slice of the art world that is veiled by canvas and marble. The life behind artwork is as various as the people who inspire it.
