The third annual Santa Cruz Music Festival hit downtown last weekend, with a line-up stacked with over 100 bands. The local and semi-local acts included headliners RJD2 and G Jones, alongside burgeoning bands of UC Santa Cruz students like Tony Tricks and Adult School.

The festival turned downtown shops and restaurants into temporary venues for 13 hours, all for a $50 ticket price. Approximately 2,000 people attended, said musician and organizer Thomas Dawson.

“The energy was amazing downtown,” Dawson said. “Everybody seemed to have a good time, all the artists we talked to seemed like they had a great time, everyone was stoked on the event and ready for next year, and we have already started planning and are ready to go.”
