UCSC Student in Critical Condition After Being Hit on Highway 1

Police seek community help in identifying the driver


The Santa Cruz Police Department (SCPD) is seeking public help in locating the driver of a silver 2010-11 Honda CRV that struck and critically injured a 20-year-old UC Santa Cruz student on Highway 1 between River and Mission Streets approximately 2 a.m. Sunday.The student was transported to the Bay Area Trauma Center in critical condition. SCPD issued a county-wide, multi-agency Project R.O.P.E. to track down the suspected vehicle but were unable to locate it.


Investigators are asking the community to be on the lookout for similar vehicle with damage to the passenger side front bumper. If you have any information, call the SCPD at 831-420-5820, or leave a tip at santacruzpolice.com
