Bookshop Santa Cruz is holding a book drive for local public schools for the third year in a row. Librarians from 10 different schools have submitted wish lists, and books meant for donation are sold at a twenty percent discount as Bookshop Santa Cruz until Dec. 31

City’s Water Plan Flows Forward
The latest City Council meeting spotlighted both Santa Cruz’s water shortage problem and the opening of the San Lorenzo River for public use. Both issues were addressed via unanimous votes, which set forth the path to achieve a viable water solution, as well as the opening of the river.
Permanent Memorial Planned for Fallen Santa Cruz Police Officers
The Santa Cruz Police Department announced plans for a permanent memorial garden to honor fallen officers Sgt. Loran “Butch” Baker and Detective Elizabeth Butler, on Nov. 12.
