Slugs Reach Playoffs for Fifth Consecutive Year
This time last year, the Slugs were in the middle of what would go on to be a three game losing streak entering the postseason. Now, the team is on their way to finishing the regular season stronger, with two straight wins and one game left to go before the first round of the playoffs. The Slugs still look for the same end result as last year’s team — a WCLL championship.
Men’s Rugby Season Comes to an End
“Come on Slugs, let’s hit somebody,” shouted junior number five lock Noah Stid, all 6 feet and 5 inches and 245 pounds of him. With two minutes left on the clock and UC Santa Cruz only down by one try, Stid yelled out this battle cry, hoping it would be enough to fire up his teammates to get one more score before the game ended.
Slugs Keep Postseason Hopes Alive Over Break
While students were home enjoying spring break, the NCAA Division III No. 6 ranked UC Santa Cruz men’s volleyball team was out on the court, giving it their all. The Slugs played two crucial games against No. 4 Carthage as part of their quest to reach the NCAA tournament alive for the third straight year.
